The Hospitality Center is a clean, safe and dignified environment where a hearty, daily meal is provided for the elderly on fixed incomes, temporarily needy, working poor, disabled and homeless persons. All in need are served, regardless of age, race, gender or religion because all persons have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. This belief is the core value of the Hospitality Center, and daily we strive to serve guests with the utmost respect and dignity.

There is no charge or fee for receiving a meal at the Hospitality Center.

The Hospitality Center is open seven days a week and all 365 days of the year.  The facility is located on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur to readily serve the populace of South Jefferson County. Approximately 40,000 meals were served last fiscal year.

Ways to Help

Volunteers are essential to the Hospitality Center.  They are the key to keeping the center open.  Approximately 125 volunteers are the heart and soul of the Hospitality Center. Volunteers are needed to facilitate every aspect of the Hospitality Center, such as:

  • Cooking
  • Serving meals
  • Welcoming guests

The Pass the Flame Campaign

On Saturday, November 17, 2012, Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas will join several other area social service agencies in a combined observance of Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week and the 25th anniversary of our Hospitality Center. Together, we will kick off a campaign of renewed commitment to serving the hungry and the homeless by calling upon the community to step up with another generation of support for these causes through education about the issues, volunteerism, financial support and legislative advocacy. This campaign will be called Pass the Flame and will invite governmental, business and spiritual leaders and the individuals within their constituencies to be part of the solution to hunger and homelessness.

Keep an eye out for more details about how to Pass the Flame after November 17. In the meantime, please pray for the success of this event and movement.
