Asset Building Case Management (ABC) provides comprehensive case management services that assist low and moderate income families achieve their self-sufficiency and housing security goals. Catholic Charities case management takes a holistic view of the client’s needs, which broadens the focus to include biological, psychological, and social needs.
This long term project serves Jefferson,
Hardin, & Orange
Counties.
FINANCIAL EDUCATION CLASSES
Families accepted into ABC will participate in a variety of classes on money management & home buyer education (Fundamentals of Good Credit classes). Each family
will be required to establish a pattern of regular savings.
Individual Development Accounts (IDA)
may be available to those who qualify. These savings accounts will
provide a two-to-one match for the money that the family saves to allow
them to buy a home, go to college or attend a vocational school.

Series Coming Up!
Registration is currently underway
for a series of Fundamentals of Good Credit classes to be held on the
following Saturdays:
August 7, 2010
August 21, 2010
September 11, 2010
Classes will be held on all three
dates from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location of the classes will be the Port
Arthur Public Library at 4615
9th Avenue. The Library is easily accessible
by bus routes 1 and 3 out of downtown Port Arthur. Call (409) 924-4425 to

Turning Partnerships into Opportunities Webcast Series
In our role as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance resource, ABC is happy to partner with the Internal Revenue Service in bringing the webcast series "Turning Partnerships into Opportunities" to other agencies engaged in financial education and asset building.
